This homeowner in Durham has an incredible eye for detail, evident throughout her stunning custom-built home. With high-end finishes and a clean, open floor plan, every element is chosen with purpose. She invested in a Samsung Frame TV, a piece of technology designed to blend seamlessly into a home’s decor as a piece of art. The challenge was that the visible wires needed to power the TV and its One Connect Box broke that illusion. She needed a solution that would match the meticulous, high-end standard of her home.

The central challenge of this project was to solve a common problem in a high-end setting: visible wires detracting from beautifully integrated technology. The client’s Samsung Frame TV was mounted above her gas fireplace, but the power cord and the single, thin “One Connect” cable were running down the side of the mantle to a cabinet below. Our goal was to create a truly “cord-free” appearance, allowing the TV to function as the work of art it was designed to be.
The solution was to install a recessed in-wall power and media box directly behind the TV. This involved carefully cutting into the drywall of the hollow fireplace structure to place the new box. We then ran a new, dedicated electrical line to the box, providing a hidden outlet for both the TV and the Sonos soundbar. This strategic placement allows the Samsung One Connect Box to sit discreetly within the wall, completely out of sight, along with all the necessary connections.
With the infrastructure in place, the final step was precision mounting. We re-hung the Frame TV on its no-gap wall mount, ensuring it sat perfectly flush against the wall. Below it, the Sonos soundbar was mounted with meticulous care to be perfectly level and centered, appearing as a natural extension of the display. The result is a flawless, floating media setup. All the technology is fully powered and functional, but the unsightly clutter of wires and boxes has completely vanished, preserving the clean, sophisticated aesthetic of the living space.

Previously, exposed power and media cables ran down the side of the mantle, disrupting the clean aesthetic of the custom fireplace and undermining the TV’s seamless, artistic design.
After: Technology, Perfected
The final installation achieves a truly seamless look, with the Frame TV and Sonos soundbar appearing to float on the wall without any visible wires, perfectly complementing the home’s high-end design.
